Back in cinci after a LONG bus ride back from Chicago. Short week at my new job, but still fulfilling. I'm still pretty much an intern, but i got my first "Assignment," which means i have research and stuff to do (which i've done a bit of) and it's REALLY, REALLY interesting. i really like development. and people.
Anyway, today started with being awoken at 4 a.m. by our loud punk rock neighbors guffawing and exclaiming pointless, ridiculous things and coughing. lots of coughing. the old lady inside me wanted to put on a bathrobe, grab a broom to shake, and run out to the porch and yell "some of us have to work in the morning! and punk rock is D-E-A-D!" but i didn't.
But then it took a turn for the better! boy oh boy, the nicest shift manager in the world at CVS gave me the best, best boxes ever. They are COLLAPSABLE. they are wonderful. there is a a plethora of them. and they were free. the day is starting out right.
Plans for the rest of the day? Let's see...
Finish granola and coffee at Sitwells (and blog post). (also ignore loud guy at the coffee bar that likes to hear himself talk. SHUT UP. we don't care what you thought about the cell phone article in the free weekly paper).
Write introduction, conclusion, and endnotes for thesis.
Electronically send thesis to Fed Ex.
School work lunch with Mary.
Pick up bound thesis, drop off!!!!!!!!!!
Capstone project meeting.
Capstone project presentation.
Celebratory drinks.
Happy Friday, or Blue Skies, as John Marks of Trollwood Performing Arts School would say.

You are moving. It's official. Because if you can ever describe cardboard boxes as being "really nice", and are thrilled that someone just GAVE you a pile of them (no charge!), you MUST be moving.
Good job! I actually have box-envy right now. How sick is that?
Congrats on finishing that thesis!
DANG! forgot about the executive summary. okay, i'll be done tomorrow. but then i'll be REALLY REALLY DONE!
So how many of these boxes do your mother and I have to lift?
zero! they'll all be unpacked and gone by the time you get to chicago...we just have to bring in the odds and ends you surprise us with...
But are the boxes as uniform and stackable and lidded as bankers boxes? Those are the sorts of boxes to have box-envy over! Free and sturdy is good, but often not as stackable.
Congrats on the thesis...one of life's charcter and intellectual growing experiences you can build on...
