Storm.

Big one last night. Actually, like three of them. I went out on my 5.5 mile route for a run at 7 p.m., cause tim told me it was going to rain. Pshaw, Paw! i thought. it's just gray and eerily quiet outside. I was running the last mile when the rain started, and made it inside for about 5 minutes before i realized how bad the storm was.

Tim was at our friend noah and dana's house eating burgers, so I called him to let him know i was safe and sound. Our phones kept breaking up, and I had no internet to check the radar, so I while watching dirty water creep under our deck door and trying to communicate with the outside world (Dana) I blurted out "is a hurricane coming?"

Um, no, says Dana. In her head I bet she was clearly picturing a map of the united states with red arrows pointing out the difference between the OCEANIC COAST and the GREAT LAKES. just a bit a difference.

Seriously, lots of wind, lightning, thunder all night long. Very scary. Cats? Not phased a bit. This morning, I snapped these pictures on the way to work. Is that a tree downed by lighting? Not sure. Hmmm.

meanwhile, Noah and I were lounging in the kitchen and watching Tim jump with every crack of thunder, while our fraidy-cat hid under the bed. I think our cat believes "rain" to mean "acid droplets of death coming to get me".
