Art Project.

Tim and I have been at each other's throats lately. I think it's a combination of me being gone for week for work, staring to feel a little bit of cabin fever, and TIm deciding to ignore a bet we made in january which would have forced him to quit smoking. We had a bitter exchange last night, although we did not go to bed angry. So this morning I woke up and let Tim sleep in while I worked on the second project for Learning To Love You More, a site that encourages people to take a second look at every day life. Just a bit.

Directions are:

Think of something encouraging you often tell yourself. For example: Everything will be ok. Or: Don't listen to them. Or: It'll blow over. Now make a banner, making sure to follow these instructions:

1. Draw each letter of the sentence on a large piece of colored construction paper or big squares of fabric. One letter per piece. Draw them blocky so you can cut them out.
2. Cut them out.
3. Glue each one onto a piece of construction paper or fabric that is a contrasting color.
4. Then glue the edges of all the pieces of paper or fabric together to make a banner.
5. Hang the banner in a place where you or someone else might need some encouragement, for example, across your bathroom. Or between two trees so that you and your neighbors can receive encouragement from it. Or in a gas station.

Ta dah!

Here are a couple of my favorites from the page.

Oh man, that "One day you will be cool" one is more depressing than anything. Holy crap is that a downer.

i know, it's weird cause some people use this site to be like "my day to day is depressing and arty" while i personally believe the purpose of the site is really to say, "hey, i miss those little amazing things that happen day to day."

the next project i might do is a press release on giving tim a hug. mmmmmm warm fuzzies.

I agree with Aaron - buzzkill. Especially because "being cool" is such a stinkin fallacy.

I mean, one person's cool is another person's completely ridiculous. Am I right?
