Ummmmmm...

Some people summed up W. Bush's magnetic personality in a simple sentence: "he's someone you would want to have a beer with."

If I could sum up the extent of Palin's charisma it would be something like..."the home ec teacher"...hmmm..."who teaches a special class on cooking gamey meat"...and..."was runner up for Miss Alaska and has fired like a billion people in an effort to balance budgets..." and also "is totally out of touch with reality if she thinks abstinence only education is the answer for everyone but her own daughter."

There! I think I summed it up.

And. Little note. I'm certainly a feminist, but I have a feeling this lady is getting a little "Colin Powell-ed" if you know what I mean. Also, she believes in green house gasses, but not that they are caused by human behavior. Huh? Double wha-what? This is such a crazy, crazy choice for VP. I just can't get over it.

UPDATE:

ALSO!

Palin didn't want to put polar bears on the endangered species list.

EVEN THOUGH THEY ARE SO SHORT STAFFED THEY HAVE STARTED MATING WITH GRIZZLY BEARS!

They should make a new West Side Story, but it would be "Alaskan Side Story," and instead of Sharks vs. Jets it would be Polars vs. Grizzles, and they would be all like: "Prrr..." "GROAR!"

What I love about Palin as the VP is that McCain's WHOLE NEGATIVE CAMPAIGN against Obama is "He's not ready, he's too inexperienced."

"Oh, my VP? She's been governor of the country's fourth least-populated state for not even two years. Before that, she was mayor of a 6,000 person town for a few years. But yeah, she could be president."

Yeah I agree with both of ya's.
Something tells me he just picked her name off the list because it also ends in "-in".
You know, so that it looks snazzy next to his name on campaign posters.

Mmmm-hmmm, feels good to be a democrat right about now :)

Well, count me as shocked. I was sure you guys would all LOVE the Republican ticket.

Lyz, don't get me wrong, I'm really trying to be objective. McCain was the best choice the Reps had. No doubt about that. But some no-name hockey-mom from Alaska... seriously.

Don't say that to Dad unless you want to raise some righteous Republican anger. He asked me what I thought, and when I expressed reservations, he went into attack mode! (You know you did, Dad.:)

Actually, I'm more concerned for her kids, who will be short a mom if she becomes VP.

Not to mention the fact that she's a secessionist...running for federal office. But that's the least of my worries.

Alaska can't secede! I might lose citizenship!

I still say that she has more experience in elected office than Obama. And only 10 months on the school board taught me that "everyone" watches what is done on the local level. If you don't do it right there, you will never go any farther politically. So states are "in the red" because "they" refused to cut people or programs and wouldn't/couldn't raise taxes enough.

i thought she wanted CUT taxes? is raising taxes a good thing now, as long as it's for the right programs? or as long as they deal with health care, then it's not worth it? and i still say...

it's a flash in the pan move and i don't think this woman deserves to be on the ticket. i'm going to steal a line from my friend kaye and say "anyone who has put vaseline on their teeth and posed in a ball gown" should not be making decisions affecting international relations. i don't care if she visited kuwait.

regardless of "political experience" (whether you view that as time in office, level of office, or critiques on your office) she just makes me feel very unsettled and seems to have a lapse of judgement when it comes to reality.

SHE DIDN'T EVEN GO PUBLIC WITH HER PREGNANCY. I don't want to trust someone in office who doesn't even clue her family in on the extra care needed for her child. That is just a supreme, crazy judgement. I'm not just saying someone in public office, i'm saying ANYONE.

If a friend's mom held back something like that, I'd seriously question her sanity. Not to mention, once again, that she believes in global warming, but not that it's from human behavior. Um, so, is that belief in HEAT?

I just fear having someone in office that feels "I DESERVE AND WILL DO ANYTHING TO GET INTO OFFICE." Even drag my daughter's unplanned pregnancy into the tabloids because it means a huge promotion for my career. Even give up being the primary care giver to my new child. Even join an anti-choice ticket when I had previously promoted birth control.

This just seems like a massive swipe at power. And perhaps it's a bit classist, but I'd like someone with a bit more...class.
