We had a great long weekend and got to meet Kate's parents (some of the best people on earth) and her siblings spent lots of time and energy making sure that we were sleeping and eating well. So here are some beautiful pictures from our time on the Cape:

Mom. I love Mom. She had such a good time working really hard. Here's a quick moment of her enjoying it all.
Who is mom looking at? Probably Leah or Ben. Dr. Jost spent lots of time chasing after the screaching monkey formerly known as Benjamin Jost, and everyone found enjoyed the Leah-isms that were frequently repeated at the dinner table. We were transporting six pies all covered with tin foil in a mini-van, and the tin foil was vibrating like snare drum heads. Leah whispered "I can hear the pies trembling." Oh. Oh oh.

What pies??? These pies! Exhibit A: Mom shows off her vegan pie dough to Kate (she seems okay with it) and Kate also suggests marking the vegan pies with a large "V" to keep them straight. Excellent advice, as we kept mixing them up with the "wings and beaks" and/or "hoofs and horns" pies.

Night before the wedding: Dave, Jess, Aaron, Tim and I try to fit in with the locals after almost getting run off the road for driving 15 miles an hour so we could find the bar.

Kathleen and David Nydam show their love and trust for each other---home haircuts. This moment also cemented the theory that the Nydams and Mebergs share an ABUNDANCE of family similarities.

Day of wedding! 10am wedding meant beautiful lighting for outdoor pics. My voice got all tighty on me for the wedding music, but Tim played expertly. Here is a nice shot of Kate's dress and Aaron's appreciation.

Ginger trots past the dahlias to find a secret doggy hiding spot.

Day after wedding: Whale watching and Providence-Town sight seeing. I love that Kate pointed out it's the GLBT mecca of New England. There were great super-fit male couples everywhere I looked! And lots of ladies with sweatshirts and short haircuts. Oh yeah, and Leah was tucked in quite tightly.

So we saw 8 different humpback whales on our whale watching trip, but I didn't take any pictures---I just wanted to enjoy it. One whale approached the boat when Kate and I were on one side together, and it took a breath and dived and was like OH MY GOD TOTALLY probably 40 feet from us!!! It really was amazing.
Okay. Lots of pictures. But so much to say. Had such an amazing time and Kate's family was so amazing. I hope we can get out to visit again, because Tim informed me that he wants a whale to spray water on his face before he dies. And he's very serious.
